The TEEN TRUTH (TT) FILM FESTIVAL was developed to provide more youth the opportunity to be heard in order for audiences across the nation to be challenged by the filmmakers' voice and empowered by their message. Using the same core principals that made TT successful, the TT: FILM FESTIVAL is focused on furthering the positive TT movement by featuring the artistic voices of the best student filmmakers from across the country.

The festival is open to middle, high school and college students ages 12 to 24.

Genres/Length
All films must be AT LEAST thirty (30) seconds and no more than ten (10) minutes in length.
A film submitted will be automatically placed into a genre. This is how a film will be judged and awarded.

  • MAKING A DIFFERENCE — A film that features an individual or organization that is making a difference.
  • TRUTH — A character confronting problems in life which concerns their truth.
  • PSA — A "Public Service Announcement" concerning a social issue.
  • TEEN TRUTH — A film based on social issues effecting teenagers today.
Submission Format
Judging
Submitted films will first be evaluated by TEEN TRUTH representatives for quality of content. Official selections will be chosen based on creativity, conceptual approach and relevance execution. The final festival films will be judged by a panel composed of the TEEN TRUTH producers and distinguished industry professionals.
Awards
Winners from each individual TT: FILM FESTIVAL will receive sponsored prizes and national recognition through TEEN TRUTH's communication network and exclusive online programming on TEEN TRUTH NET. Communities or schools that host a TT: FILM FESTIVAL will also receive production support and national recognition through TEEN TRUTH's communication network. Host a Festival
Your community can join this powerful movement and inspire local filmmakers by hosting a TT: FILM FESTIVAL at a local theater, community center or well equipped school theater. Our Festival Producer will work directly with your local curators to bring the best youth produced films to your state while also working to showcase local filmmakers and live talent. The only requirements are that you secure an Audio and Video equipped theatre that can hold 100 - 200 people and market the event throughout the community. The required hardware includes a digital projector, sound system, microphone, projection screen (at least eight feet wide), and live local youth performers. Previous TT: FILM FESTIVAL performers included musicians, rappers, dancers, singers, comedians and slam poets. Our representatives will provide the films, guidelines, marketing templates and promotion through TT's communication network. Please note: The TT: FILM FESTIVAL is a free event offered to former TEEN TRUTH LIVE clients and is currently available to new host schools for a processing fee of $50.
